Several David’s House residents were recognized as honorary members of the Army National Guard Police Battalion this morning.
Included in the ceremony was an overview of the HHD 210 Military Police Battalion’s history orated by Captain Stephen Nelson, a presentation of awards to residents (as well as Elleen Fitzgerald, the Special Needs Adult Facilitator for Calvary Church’s special needs ministry) by Captain Paul Nelson and Mayor Jack Poll’s proclamation to WWII veteran, Martin Slagter. The National Anthem and a concluding rendition of “God Bless America” were led by The Chimes, a vocal music group featuring one of our residents, Terry.
