Meet Sara!
Sara worked at David’s House from 2006-2008 on the House 2 Direct Care team. After taking a hiatus to work for several other Grand Rapids organizations as a direct care provider, she returned to David’s House in 2015 as a full-time team captain.
Prior to working in health care, Sara served as a year-round staff member at several summer camps. She and her husband met at a camp conference and worked together in camp ministry for two years. Sara first started working with people with special needs at Grace Youth Camp when she was 14. Over time as Sara began volunteering at nursing homes and other organizations that catered to people with special needs, she realized that a career in this field is what she desired to pursue.
Sara resides in Wyoming with her husband and cat. She has a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Grace Bible College and enjoys gardening and backpacking in her free time. What Sara appreciates most about David’s House is the Christian environment and the joy that everyone has in the small things in life.
