Staff Spotlight – Meet Angela

Angela started working at David’s House Ministries in July of 2012. She is now the home supervisor of House Four but started in House Two, working the 3rd shift.

She first discovered DHMIN by speaking with a friend of her sister. When she told her mother where she would be working, her mom started to cry and told Angela that DHMIN was where her cousin Jay lived.

“This made it seem like it was meant to be and that I was where I was supposed to be,” Angela said.

Angela loves working with residents, seeing the smile on their faces, and being able to help them.

“I truly love helping people, and DHMIN feels like my second Family. It never feels like work to me,” Angela said.

Going on one on one outings with the residents and getting to know them is something she enjoys about her job. Dance parties are also one of her favorite activities because music is a great way to connect with everyone.

“I learn something new every day, but what means the most to me is I’ve learned that love, kindness, grace, and patience can change someone’s life, and can help heal someone that might be hurting, and can bring your soul peace,” Angela said.

Outside of work, she has a 15-year-old daughter, Taylor, who she loves spending time with. Angela also enjoys reading.

A quote that inspires her is, “sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory,” by Dr. Seuss.
