Ben loves a good conversation. He can often be found chatting with friends, sharing memories from the past, getting to know someone new, or discussing the latest weather forecast.
Since moving to David’s House in 2010, Ben has built a life filled with friendships, favorite activities, and opportunities to contribute. Ben describes himself as having a “traveling spirit,” a phrase that reflects both his curiosity and sense of adventure. He enjoys sharing memories of places he’s visited, remembering experiences that made an impact on him, and looking ahead to new opportunities to explore.
Music is a big part of Ben’s life. He enjoys collecting records, especially Simon & Garfunkel, and he’s a talented piano player. One of his favorite activities is participating in the David’s House choir, where he practices each week and performs at concerts throughout the year.
Ben also enjoys giving back. He volunteers each month cleaning at Hestovin Stables and also helps pack bags for Beer City Dog Biscuits. At home, he loves spending time in the kitchen baking something sweet to share with his housemates.
Ben enjoys spending time with friends at concerts, bonfires, and Calvary’s Go-Getters. He especially looks forward to the group’s annual barn dance.
Those who know Ben best appreciate his curiosity, kindness, and genuine interest in others. Over the years, he has continued to grow, learn new skills, and embrace new opportunities while pursuing the things he enjoys most.
Whether he’s sharing a conversation, playing the piano, helping others, or spending time with friends, Ben brings enthusiasm and joy to the people around him. His story is a wonderful example of what it looks like to have a place to belong, meaningful opportunities to contribute, and the support to keep growing along the way.
