A Place to Belong.
A Place to
Call Home.

At David's House Ministries, we believe every person deserves to be known, valued, and loved. Since 1987, we've provided adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a long-term place to call home—surrounded by compassionate care, meaningful relationships, and a community where they can thrive. For residents, David's House is more than a place to live. It's a place to belong.

OUR MISSION & VALUES

More Than Care. A Place to Belong.

David's House Ministries provides compassionate, Christ-centered residential care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, creating opportunities for meaningful relationships, personal growth, and community.

Everything we do is rooted in the belief that every person has inherent value and dignity. DHMIN’s core values are the fundamental beliefs of our ministry.

BODY

David’s House values the quality and benevolent care of the whole person and the dignity and loving support of each member of our community.

SOUL

David’s House values the community of soulful care created when residents, staff, and partners come together in relationship with one another.

SPIRIT

David’s House values the Christ-centered faith-foundation of the ministry that views each community member as created in God’s image.

What Makes David's House Different?

The answer goes beyond the care we provide.

Residents don't simply live here—they become part of a community.

Friendships are formed around shared meals, activities, outings, celebrations, and everyday moments. Families find confidence knowing their loved ones are supported by people who genuinely care.

That's what has defined David's House for nearly 40 years.

And it's what continues to guide us today.

OUR STORY

Four Decades of Community

Families of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) want their loved ones to have joyful, meaningful lives and a wonderful place to call home. Yet many face a difficult reality: they cannot provide care forever, and finding quality long-term care can feel overwhelming. David’s House exists to provide a place where adults with IDD can thrive.

Long before the first David’s House opened, Jay and Lois DeBoer were asking a question shared by many families: Who will care for our loved ones in the future? Inspired by their son David, they dreamed of a place where adults with IDD would be known, valued, and supported through compassionate Christian care. In 1987, that dream became reality when the first David’s House welcomed ten men, including David. Read more about Our Founding Story here.

Today, that vision continues through holistic, faith-based care that nurtures the whole person.

Everyone deserves more than a place to live. They deserve a place to belong.

For nearly 40 years, David’s House Ministries has helped adults with IDD flourish while providing lasting hope and security for the families who love them.
