Marcela joined David’s House Ministries in January after feeling called to serve men and women with disabilities. She shared that the opportunity came at just the right time in her life. When asked what she is most excited about in her new role as House Supervisor at Willow Tree Lodge, Marcela said she looks forward to getting to know the women she supports, building strong relationships, and creating meaningful memories, especially when the weather warms up and they can enjoy time together in the community.
Outside of work, Marcela loves being outdoors. Having grown up on a farm, she enjoys gardening, caring for animals, and relaxing in a hammock. She also shared that she did not learn to ride a bike until she was 27, and that same summer she learned to roller skate, though she admits she still has not mastered stopping gracefully. A true morning person and devoted coffee lover, Marcela lives by the motto, “With bad intentions you can gain a lot, but with good intentions you can gain everything.”
