Fred has been part of the David’s House family since the very beginning—one of the first ten men to move in when we opened in 1987. Over the years, this place has truly become home for him. One of the things he appreciates most about David’s House is having his own room, a space that’s all his where he can relax, care for his plants, and enjoy some quiet time.
At home, Fred enjoys simple pleasures that bring him happiness. He loves coloring with staff and watching game shows, with Press Your Luck being his favorite because of the “whammies.” Balloons are one of his favorite things, and it means a lot to him that a staff member thoughtfully puts together a new balloon arrangement for him each week. It’s a small act of kindness that brings Fred joy and makes his space feel even more special.
When it comes to community, Fred’s favorite activity is Coffee Social where he gets a cup of hot cocoa. He also enjoys going out on staff-led outings, where he can explore, connect, and enjoy time outside the house.
Fred is often described as calm, content, and a little goofy. He has a great sense of humor and loves to tell jokes that make people laugh.
Fred brings a quiet warmth and a light-hearted spirit to David’s House, and we’re so thankful for the many ways he helps make this community feel like home.
