If you’ve ever spent time around David’s House, you’ve probably met David, one of our original community members. His parents were the visionaries who founded David’s House, and since 1987, David has called this place home.
We sometimes joke that David’s favorite thing about living at David’s House is the name—but truly, it’s the activities he enjoys most. He looks forward to going out for lunch, joining in community outings, and taking every opportunity to be outside. The annual fall barn dances are some of his favorite memories.
When David’s not out and about, he loves a game of cards, often showing off his Skip-Bo skills. And when it’s time to rest, he’s probably watching a cooking show, likely Bobby Flay or Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
One small thing that brings David joy every day is a cup of coffee. And if he could choose an unlimited supply of any food, he’d choose over-easy eggs and all kinds of fish.
Staff describe David as goofy, kind, friendly, and always ready with a joke. He brings warmth, laughter, and a big heart to our community.
