Meet Nate Hendriksen, the Facilities and Grounds Technician! Nate started in December 2022. He makes sure everything is up to standard by repairing, cleaning, and maintaining the facilities.
“The Lord calls us to help people in need, whether it be tightening up a wheelchair or cleaning up a spot on the carpet,” Nate said.
Nate discovered David’s House Ministries through Vice President Greg Vander Goot, who he has known his entire life. Greg informed him about an open position, and he applied right away!
Since starting at DHMIN, he has built strong relationships with the staff and residents.
“The opportunity to get to know the residents is the best part of my job. Making sure that they are living in a clean and safe environment is so important, and I am proud to be a part of that and serve in any capacity I can,” Nate said.
Outside of work, Nate spends time with his wife, Kate. They were just married this past December. He is a huge sports fan who attends multiple sporting events yearly. His Church family is important to him, and he is actively involved in The Foundry Church in Zeeland.
Through Youth With a Mission, Nate has done mission work in Louisville, Kentucky, and Cairo, Egypt.
Philippians 4:13 is his favorite Bible verse, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
This verse helped him recover after his life-threatening car accident in 2005. It reminds him that he gets through life with the support of God and his family.
