Meet Sarah Schwenk! Sarah started working at David’s House in August of 2018. She began her direct care journey at House Three and became a Team Captain. She is now at Pine Tree as a Team Captain.
“I heard about David’s House from a previous co-worker. She knew how much I loved working with people with all different disabilities and thought I would be a perfect match for the job,” Sarah said.
What she most enjoys about working at David’s House is the bonds she creates with each resident and staff. She loves going on house outings with the residents to lunch, the mall, the beach, and much more.
“They’re all like family to me,” Sarah said.
One thing she has learned since working at David’s House is the importance of having patience with one another.
When she is not at work, she enjoys visiting her grandparent’s cottage, boating, and spending time with her family.
A fun fact about Sarah is: “I have been volunteering on Monday nights at a club for adults with disabilities called Special Friends for the last 11 years!”
