Meet Emily!
Emily started at David’s House in February 2017 as a House 2 direct care provider. “I’d never heard of David’s House until they found my resume on Calvin College’s job board and gave me a call,” she says. “I came in for a tour and interview and couldn’t wait to get started.”
Emily is a soon-to-be graduate of Calvin College where she’s pursuing a degree in Social Work and Sociology. Before coming to David’s House, Emily served at Camp Geneva in Holland, MI for three summers on the support and counseling staff. When she’s not working with David’s House residents, Emily can be found on a bike ride, at one of the many Grand Rapids coffee shops or baking treats in the kitchen.
“I have a lot of favorite things about David’s House, but one of them is the relationships created with residents. I love coming in for a shift and hearing what happened in the latest episode of I Love Lucy, what they ate for lunch, how they liked their outing or what happened at work that day. I get to do life with the residents and I love it.”
In the few months that Emily has been with us, she’s played a big role in the quality, total-person care provided daily for residents of David’s House. Thanks for serving so well, Emily. We appreciate you!
