Nyuon is coming up on two years working at David’s House Ministries this January. He started as a Direct Support Professional and quickly transitioned into a Shift Supervisor where he ensures all staff and residents are taken care off. His favorite part about his job is being the go-to guy for staff or residents’ needs. He genuinely enjoys solving problems and making everyone’s day a little brighter. But most importantly, he cherishes the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of the residents, as they also have a profound impact on his own life in many ways.
A core memory of his at David’s House is from when he first started, and they went to ArtPrize downtown with all the residents in the house he works in. It was an experience that warmed his heart and brought a smile to his face, seeing the residents’ amazing reactions and impressions of some pretty cool artwork. That moment remains a vivid and core memory that he often reflects on.
Outside of work, his hobbies include playing basketball, working out, coaching boys’ basketball, and diving into a good book. He finds these activities not only enjoyable but also a great way to balance his professional life with personal interests.
When asked, “What brought you to David’s House?” he said, “If I were asked this question last year, I’d just tell you because I needed a job, however today I can proudly say that I’ve found a home within the David House community. The Lord has worked through me every step of the way molding my relationships and bonds here at Davids House.” Nyuon has been an amazing addition to our team, and we are so thankful for the difference he is making for our residents.
