This past March, Ann Braford celebrated 30 years with the ministry! During her time here, she has worked various roles including bookkeeper, direct care, and Executive Director. At the beginning of May, Ann added another new role to the list – Resident & Family Advocate, a new part-time role within the ministry.
When asked about her new role, Ann says “it’s important that the voices of the residents (and their families/guardians) continue to be heard. With the ever-changing government funding structure, my role will be to come alongside families and help advocate for the services and funding necessary for their loved one’s health and safety. I look forward to this new role that allows me to continue to work with those who are near and dear to my heart, as we face these challenges together.”
There have been a lot of changes lately to funding and services, presenting new challenges to residents and their families/guardians. Ann keeps up with these changes, how they will affect residents and families/guardians and will work with everyone to ensure that needs are accurately accessed during annual meetings.
Ann says her desire is that “everyone who lives, works, volunteers, or financially supports David’s House realizes that they are part of God’s plan for this ministry. Together we are the hands, feet and heart of God, coming together to serve him by serving others. I am so blessed to have had this privilege of coming to work each day to witness the many acts of kindness, patience and priceless smiles that are exchanged between staff and residents.”
We are blessed to have Ann here with us at David’s House, continually looking out and caring for every resident, family/guardian, and staff member.
