Residential Life Assistant Kaitlyn Hoffman has been working with us since October 30, 2013. She started in house three and then moved to Willow Tree this past year.
Kaitlyn discovered David’s House Ministries after hearing from one of her friends who worked here, who would always talk about how much she loved being a part of what we do.
The relationships she has built with the residents and simply spending time with them are what she enjoys most about her role. It is also rewarding to have her old residents from House Three come and visit her at Willow Tree Lodge.
“David’s House has turned into a second family,” Kaitlyn said.
She also enjoys facilitating and participating in crafts, walks, and going out in the community with the residents.
Since being here, she has learned how genuinely inspiring our residents are. They are the smartest, funniest, kindest, giving people she has ever met.
“They don’t let their disabilities hold them back, and they can do way more than what people give them credit for,” Kaitlyn said.
Outside of work, she is with her kids. They like going to the beach, sky zone, watching movies, and hiking.
Kaitlyn’s advice to everyone is:
“You are funny and have a sense of humor; you turn everything you do into a song.”
